New Employees Join LAPP Management Team

Meryl Whittaker, President and CEO of LAPP, is pleased to make the following announcements regarding the LAPP Management Team.

Joining LAPP as the new Vice President, Investments, is Laurence Waring. Laurence has extensive experience in the field of investment management, most recently with his own consulting firm Waring Advisory Services, Inc. Previously, Laurence was the Director, Investments for the Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP), and the Director, External Fund Management for the Government of Alberta's Finance Department. Laurence's role will be to support and advise the Board of Trustees on items relating to the management of LAPP's nearly $16 billion investment portfolio.

Also joining LAPP is Beth Spark, in the role of Vice President, Policy and Research. Beth was formerly the Human Resources Advisor for pensions at the City of Calgary, and has done pension consulting and policy work for Alberta Pensions Services Corporation, ATB Financial, the Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP) and the Special Forces Pension Plan (SFPP). Beth's role will be to support the policy decisions and strategic goals of the LAPP Board of Trustees.

Beth and Laurence join David Schneider, Vice President of Stakeholder Relations, to complete LAPP's Management Team.

The appointments of Laurence and Beth are effective immediately.
