LAPP 2008 Annual Report and Highlights Report - Update

Our Annual Report and Highlights Report are now posted on our website, and copies of the Highlights Report are in the mail to nearly 175,000 members and retirees. The information contained in these documents was accurate as of December 31, 2008. However, since that time, there has been a significant improvement in LAPP's financial situation.
Financial markets have rebounded since March 9, with many of LAPP's assets seeing material increases in value. The June 2009 figures are not yet available, but we can say with confidence that the market improvements are repairing some of the damage caused in 2008 and early 2009.
The volatile nature of the world economic crisis makes it difficult for LAPP to keep members and retirees completely up to date at all times. It takes several months to audit, produce and distribute our Highlights Report and, by the time it is distributed, more current information is available.
